Our Mission
Our mission is to provide education, support, and advocacy for men who have sex with men and use substances.
We are a member-driven group that provides support, education, and advocacy to and for one another. We work to shift how people who use substances are perceived by breaking the silence, reducing stigma, and building community. We operate on principles of harm reduction, anti-racism, and anti-capitalism. Current work includes research, education, and peer support.
People who use substances (PWUS) are often marginalized, silenced, and denies life-saving resources. Negative social attitudes toward PWUS are rooted in false narratives, assumptions, and sensationalism in the media. Men who have sex with men (MSM) who use crystal methamphetamine experience additional hardships like homophobia, transphobia, and racism. All of this contributes to an atmosphere which allows for mass criminalization, high rates of suicide, and premature death. We’re tired of seeing this happen..
We demand dignity and respect for people who use substances. We need access to treatment on demand that is both effective and culturally competent. We need a seat at the table when decisions are made that impact our lives. And we need material resources like housing, an income, and appropriate medical care.
